The world population is expected to grow by 2 billion people over the next 30 years. Feeding everyone is a huge challenge. The agriculture sector requires a lot of land, water, fertilizers, and energy. How can we use these resources more efficiently? To find out, DW’s broadcast ‘Shift’ made an episode on Smart Farming as part of their Living in the Digital Age series. Amongst others, experts from Ridder explained to Shift how today’s technologies in controlled environment agriculture enable resource-efficient, sustainable food production.
