Ridder unveils Intelligent Greenhouse Technology at GreenTech 2021 Live & Online

From 28 to 30 September, the first major international trade fair for the horticultural sector, GreenTech 2021 Live & Online, took place again in RAI Amsterdam. Thanks to the strong content of the programme and a good quality of the incoming visitors, we can look back on a valuable event at which we were once again in live contact with our customers and, with Ridder Robotics, CoRanger and SmartDrive, launched a number of beautiful, meaningful innovations at the same time.

Innovations
Ridder introduced two innovations at GreenTech; Ridder CoRanger Indoor Positioning (nominated for the GreenTech Innovation Award) and Ridder SmartDrive Digital Limit Switch. In addition, the cooperation and investment in the Israeli robot startup MetoMotion was unveiled in the run-up to the exhibition. This new robot venture will bring a harvesting robot for vine tomatoes to the market in 2022.

Knowledge sharing central in speakers programme
Besides the launch of several new innovative solutions, a lot of knowledge was also shared at GreenTech during the substantive program on the Xpert Stage. Ridder product managers Temdro Douw and Vincent Hoveling gave presentations on the innovations Ridder CoRanger and Ridder SmartDrive. Itamar Zisling, Business and Pilot Manager of MetoMotion, shared the latest insights into horticultural robotization in his presentation ‘data-driven analytics and machine learning in robotic tomato harvesting’.  Water expert Willem van Baak explained, on behalf of our innovation partner Water Future, the latest state of affairs regarding emission-free cultivation and discussed, among other things, the latest developments in the area of sodium removal and nitrate recovery.

Working together on the greenhouse of the future
Cooperation and co-creation was also an important focus point during GreenTech Live & Online 2022.  Ridder Chief Innovation Officer Joep van den Bosch, MetoMotion CEO Adi Nir and Optimal Labs’ CEO and founder David Hunter shared their vision on this topic during the session ‘Co-creation leads to bigger steps in the field of automation and digitalization’ on the GreenTech Vision Stage.

Recordings
All sessions recordings can be viewed on the virtual platform of GreenTech 2021 Live & Online until 14 October 2021.
