To be able to ventilate any type of livestock house with precision and control, Ridder has developed special drive systems for intensive livestock farming. This portfolio contains a number of innovative drive systems for air intake vents and valves, ridge ventilation systems, roller ventilation systems for curtains and roller systems for PAD cooling systems.
Ridder has developed special drive units and mechanisms to open air inlets in livestock houses by winding a belt or cable around a winch drum.
We also offer special racks, brackets and pinion housings to open and close larger inlets or panels in livestock houses.
Livestock houses can be ventilated with a sidewall ventilation system or pad cooling system. Many livestock houses use roller systems for this such as the Ridder tubular motor or Ridder PowerRoller. These systems roll the fabric onto a winding tube. A conventional Ridder drive unit (RW motor gearbox) can also be used for sidewall ventilation. For this purpose, the drive unit can be installed in a fixed position, either in the middle or at one end of the house wall, and drive one or more shafts. The drive unit can also move vertically along the house wall. Ridder has developed special guide and carriage systems for this.
Indirect drive systems can be used for ridge ventilation in livestock houses. These systems use one motor gearbox to drive multiple ventilation panels along the roof ridge. This keeps the total investment cost down. This solution is based on the application of RW motor gearboxes in combination with pinion house units, gear racks and worm wheel gearboxes.
To roll up curtains in winter gardens (covered outdoor runs), farmers use roller systems such as the Ridder tubular motor or Ridder PowerRoller. These systems roll the curtain onto a winding tube. A conventional Ridder drive unit (RW motor gearbox) can also be used to roll up curtains. For this purpose, the drive unit can be installed in a fixed position, either in the middle or at one end of the system, and drive one or more shafts. To be able to raise and lower drinking lines, feeding lines and heaters automatically and smoothly, Ridder has developed special winch motors with a single winch for cable or belt lifting systems. The belt or cable is wound onto and off the drum and runs via pulleys to the drinking lines, feeding lines or heaters. This makes it possible to adjust the positions of multiple systems and control them synchronously.
For heavier applications such as rotating feeding lines or rearing platforms, hoisting solutions are often used with a double winch system in which a steel cable is wound around a tube. The tube is driven by a motor gearbox fitted with chain couplings. The motor gearbox can also be used in a double winch drive system for various applications. This system uses a continuous shaft to drive a worm wheel gearbox, enabling two parallel tube systems to run synchronously.
