Ridder Light Diffusion (RLD) Screens provide advanced light-diffusion solutions that enhance plant growth, optimize climate control, and improve energy efficiency in greenhouses year-round. Designed for crops sensitive to light intensity, they combine shading, reflection, and diffusion to evenly distribute light while regulating temperature and humidity.

 

Further, the flame retardant screen types provide the highest level of greenhouse fire safety available. A key measure of performance is hortiscatter, which precisely indicates the percentage of light diffused in all directions — a more accurate metric than haze. The white or clear strips in the screen diffuse and reflect light, and their frequency determines shading percentage. Ridder offers multiple shading levels to match different crops and growing conditions, with testing performed using the standardized NTA 2676 protocol.

 

Two main designs are available: open-structure screens, which allow optimal airflow and can be fully deployed without gaps, and closed-structure screens, which save energy by reducing heating costs while maintaining air permeability for humidity control.
