Ridder Blackout Screens (RBO) are designed for photoperiod-sensitive crops, offering complete light exclusion and climate control to maximize yield and support year-round growing. RBO screens regulate temperature, manage humidity, and improve energy efficiency while maintaining a stable growing environment. RBO screens are knitted in flame retardant screen versions for the highest greenhouse fire safety. Their knitted structure, made from foil strips and yarns, allows moisture through closed screen, preventing excessive humidity and supporting healthy plant transpiration.
A key advantage is material choice: Ridder combines thicker PE (Polyethylene) strips with polyester yarn, unlike most all-PET screens. The PE foil offers greater durability, higher energy savings, and better air permeability without reducing shading effectiveness. It also resists twisting, ensuring longer lifespan and less chance of light leaks.
