Ridder Group and Al Busath sign strategic partnership The challenging water shortages, hot climate conditions and ever-growing demand for local food production have resulted in the Middle-East becoming a key region for the development of protected horticulture. In order to optimally support these developments with smart adaptive greenhouse technology, a new strategic dealer partnership has been forged between the Ridder Group and Al Busath.
In keeping with tradition, once again the new year is off to a busy start with a number of horticulture fairs that are not to be missed. In the coming weeks, Ridder Drive Systems, HortiMaX and Ridder Climate Screens will again be well-represented at the following major horticulture events in the Netherlands and abroad.
To further enhance its ability to meet and exceed customer needs, the Ridder Group has appointed Klaas van de Poppe as its new Chief Executive Officer as from 1 January 2018. Van de Poppe's appointment is in line with the group's long-term strategy and vision to maximize the synergy between the various business units.
The Ridder Group is expanding its team with the addition of Boy de Nijs in the position of Content Marketeer. Starting December 1, Boy de Nijs will join the Ridder Group to strengthen their marketing team. In this new function he will operate on the interface between technology and marketing to create valuable content for the Ridder Group.
As a result of a strong growth in sales, Ridder Drive Systems has expanded its Dutch production facility with 2000 square metres (approx. 21,500 square feet). The company has also recruited a large number of new staff. These changes should allow Ridder to continue its growth momentum until 2021. As a result of the expansion, the layout of the factory has improved and a number of new supply routes have been laid.
On Friday, 28 October, the Hillenraad100 was announced during the Hortigala awards ceremony. After last year's meteoric rise up the rankings, Ridder-HortiMaX has moved up another four places to a surprising 14th place. Continuous developments in our product portfolio and corporate strategy, as well as working as a cohesive group, have contributed greatly to this exceptional ranking.
Last weekend a large group with Spanish, Portuguese and Mexican greenhouse builders gathered in Murcia, Spain, to celebrate 20 years of cooperation between Ridder Drives and Agrocomponentes. As well as this, a special presentation was held to introduce the Ridder Poly Drive (RPD) on the Spanish market.
At the Hortigala dinner on 30 October, it was announced that the Ridder-HortiMaX group had climbed 20 places in the Hillenraad top 100 top, rising from 38th to 18th place. We're extremely proud and excited of this ranking in the top 100 of leading Dutch horticultural companies. We would like to think all our partners and customers for their trust and support.
