Winching drive technology

Ridder drive systems are used for winching heaters, coolers, lighting systems and other equipment in Venlo greenhouses and gutter-connected poly greenhouses. Not every greenhouse is suitable for hoisting applications, since the structure must be strong enough to carry the applied load.

Drive system applications in winching solutions

In the horticulture sector, our drive systems are used in Venlo greenhouses and gutter-connected poly greenhouses. We distinguish between two winching systems:

There are two methods of winching objects with RW motor gearboxes:
  • A drive system which winds a steel cable onto a tube.
  • A double winch system where two tubes rotate synchronously using a worm wheel gearbox.

Direct winching systems

A direct winching system is a system where a single motor gearbox is connected to the object to be hoisted. In most cases, a steel cable is wound onto and off a tube.

Indirect winching systems

An indirect winching system lifts several objects simultaneously. In this system, a motor gearbox is connected to a worm wheel gearbox by a continuous shaft, allowing two parallel tube systems to run synchronously. Using an indirect system limits the number of motor gearboxes needed.
